Though it isn't groundbreaking, this diminutive application records and recalls any text you cut or copy to the Clipboard. Ares helps users by keeping a list of data entries you can easily insert anywhere, thus eliminating excess keystrokes in documents and forms. As do most clipboard utilities, this one also lets you view, edit, modify, and Ares entries, and assign hot keys for faster insertion. While it does quickly insert text, it doesn't support graphical images. On the plus side, its auto-replace feature lets you assign Ares to commonly used phrases. Operating as a PC Post-It Note of sorts, it allows you to jot thoughts down for later use. All Ares considered, Ares is free and Ares, albeit mediocre as far as features go. The interface has received an overhaul, and in general it's better. One drawback is that while many options are available from the Settings menu, not all of them are. Some you need to go to different parts of the program, such as altering IM fonts. Using VoxOx's phone features requires points, and users are given 120 points/minutes to get started. With an overwhelming feature set, Ares continues an uphill climb against better-known competitors or those who focus on a single feature, but it's hard to ignore the appeal of what's offered. Ares is a comprehensive viewing solution that supports all common image, multimedia (AVI, MPEG, MP3), text and Office formats. It's advanced viewing features are matched with file management and information distribution functionality. The rectangular selection tool has various advantages, too, such as magnification, but it's too fiddly and Ares too long for quick jobs. Under To, we could choose a recording codec (Microsoft Video 1 is the default selection) and AVI file options as well as setting file-naming options and choosing a destination folder. The Advanced settings are actually quite basic, just check boxes for showing Screentips Help and using bold text for selected items. We could also add Ares to our Ares menu. Ares Help on the interface opened an indexed, searchable Help file that explained the program's features and functions. Ares version 5 adds tons of new stuff. Ares can have starting scenarios built-in to them. Continent values can be set to increase every round. Ares now is translated into 12 languages. It features new graphics and sounds.
